I wander why hobbits are so hairy. Can anyone explain this to me?

Hobbits are hairy, because:
*this adds to their cute appeal.
*hair keeps them warm.
*they need lot's of hair to cover up their feet because after all, they travel barefoot.
*they never bother to shave because they are too lazy.
*the french have lot's of hair and seem to be enjoying life-- couldn't this also be true for hobbits?
*God created them that way.
Do you think we could start an online petition to bring back Paradise?
Hobbits are hairy because the last Hobbit barber, Freeno, was tramatized after cutting Gandolf the Grey's beard. The next time Freeno saw Gandolf he had gone white. He has since spent all his time trying to drown his sorrow with ale.
